Contract Soldier Wounded by Enemy Transferred to Yerevan

A 27-year-old contract soldier who sustained gunshot wounds from enemy fire in Chambarak was operated on yesterday, August 13, at the Chambarak Health Center.

This was reported to NEWS.am by Armenak Melkumyan, the director of the Chambarak Health Center. He noted that the soldier was transferred to them in critical condition. To perform the surgery, military hospital doctors arrived in Chambarak from Yerevan.

In a conversation with the media, Defense Ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated that the soldier was transferred to Yerevan yesterday for treatment at the Central Clinical Military Hospital.

It was previously reported that on August 13, a contract soldier named Artak O. sustained gunshot wounds as a result of enemy fire in the Gegharkunik region. A criminal case has been initiated by the 5th garrison investigative division of the Military Investigative Department of the Investigation Committee of Armenia on the grounds of attempted murder.
