Mock Patrol Cars Introduced in Tatarstan to Enhance Traffic Safety
In Tatarstan, mock patrol cars from the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (ГИБДД) have been installed on particularly hazardous road sections to enhance traffic safety, reports RIA Novosti.
The announcement states that the initiative to use mock patrol cars has been launched as part of measures to prevent road traffic injuries, and Tatarstan is one of the few regions where this method has shown positive outcomes.
These replicas are made from metal profiles and are nearly indistinguishable from real patrol cars from a distance. The ГИБДД emphasizes that the primary goal of these models is to increase driver vigilance and encourage adherence to speed limits.
The first mock patrol car has been placed at the 30th km mark of the Kazan-Ulyanovsk highway. Its distinctive feature includes light beacons, which are particularly important during dark hours and low visibility conditions.
Mobile mock-ups are planned to be installed in high-risk accident-prone areas and construction zones. Moreover, real monitoring of compliance with traffic rules will also take place in these areas, with the possibility of photo and video recording.
