Incident Involving Emil Galstyan from 'Banakum' on Northern Avenue: Actor Clarifies

An incident occurred on Northern Avenue yesterday, August 12, involving Emil Galstyan, known from the series 'Banakum', and the organizers of a signature campaign against the Istanbul Convention. According to Irakanum.am, a scuffle ensued, after which Emil reported the incident to law enforcement.

In an interview with NEWS.am, actor Emil Galstyan explained that he was at a meeting on Northern Avenue and noticed a signature campaign before his friend arrived. Curious about the campaign, he approached and asked what it was regarding. In response, the organizers remarked, 'What kind of nonsense are you doing, pretending not to know what this signature campaign is about.' He emphasizes, 'Why would I ask questions if I were aware of what the signature campaign was about? If I knew, why would I ask? Or does being an actor mean I am a fool? What moral right do they have to express themselves to me this way?'

The police reported that a citizen filed a complaint stating that they were pushed and hit at the beginning of Northern Avenue. Law enforcement detained two individuals on suspicion of assault from Northern Avenue and invited the complainant. According to our information, those detained are Gevorg Gyulumyan and Arthur Aleksanyan, representatives of the 'Kamk' public initiative, who were released hours later. A forensic examination has been scheduled, and materials are being prepared for further investigation.
