Hraparak: The Departure of Pobeda Airlines from Armenia Has Other Reasons
Hraparak newspaper reports that the departure of Pobeda Airlines from Armenia is not connected to the reason that has been circulating. It should be noted that the published reason is that the aircraft have not been consistently receiving adequate aviation fuel.
In reality, there are several reasons, but the most important one is that Tatevik Revazyan wishes to bring in other low-cost carriers to Yerevan rather than Gyumri. A decision was previously made for Pobeda to come to Gyumri, as this would serve as an additional boost for the city's development. Now, Pobeda finds it unclear why they should fly to Gyumri, while, for example, Wizz Air is coming to Yerevan.
Therefore, considering the unequal competitive conditions and the biased policies of the civil aviation leadership, the airline has decided to leave Gyumri and Armenia altogether.
