The New Owner of ‘Rustavi 2’ Has Decided to Sell the Company

The sole owner of 100% of the shares of ‘Rustavi 2’ television company, Kibar Khalvashi, has decided to sell the company. Khalvashi released a statement explaining the reasons behind his decision. According to him, over the years, the company has fallen into a deep crisis.

He accused the former CEO of ‘Rustavi 2’, Nika Gvaramia, of being responsible for the company’s credit debts, amounting to approximately 70 million lari, of which the debt to the state budget reaches 27 million lari.

Khalvashi stated that Nika Gvaramia used the channel solely for political purposes, as reported by aliq.ge. Khalvashi mentioned that lacking sufficient funds to pull the company out of the crisis, he has decided to sell it.

He expressed his willingness to discuss the matter in detail with all interested parties who wish to acquire ‘Rustavi 2’ and help turn it into a successful television company.
