57 Fires Break Out in Grassland Areas
On August 10, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received reports of fires in various grassland areas of the republic, covering approximately 200 square meters and more. Specifically, in Yerevan's Ajapnyak administrative district, fires affected areas of 2000 sq. m, 300 sq. m, and 700 sq. m. In the Nor Nork administrative district, the areas covered were 200 sq. m, while in the Nubarashen administrative district, it was 800 sq. m. The Avan administrative district saw 600 sq. m affected, and the Shengavit administrative district had fires spread over 1500 sq. m, 4.5 hectares, and another area of 1000 sq. m. The Malatia-Sebastia administrative district experienced fires covering 1200 sq. m.
In Aragatsotn province, the village of Parpi was affected by fires covering 800 sq. m, while along the Ashtarak-Ujan highway, approximately 2 hectares were burned. On the Ashtarak-Agarak highway, there was a fire affecting 2000 sq. m. In Ararat province, the village of Hayanist saw fires covering 3000 sq. m, while in the village of Taperakan, it was 1700 sq. m, and in Dimitrov village, 300 sq. m were burned. In Armavir province, the village of Artimet experienced fires over 800 sq. m.
The Lory province saw significant fires near the village of Darpas, covering 5000 sq. m. In Kotayk province, fires in the town of Yeghvard reached 3 hectares and 6000 sq. m. In Abovyan, areas of 200 sq. m, 2000 sq. m, 1000 sq. m, 300 sq. m, and another 2000 sq. m were affected. In Nor Hachn, 1 hectare was burned, while in Amaris village, it was 4 hectares, and in Arzakan village, 20 hectares were affected. In Shirak province, the city of Gyumri had fires covering 2 hectares, and in Artik city, 500 sq. m were burned. In Syunik province, the city of Sisian experienced 1 hectare burned, along with 1 hectare and 5 hectares of vegetation in Achanan village, and in Aghitu village, 10 hectares were affected. In Tavush province, a fire affected 12 hectares in the village of Aygehovit, while along the Yeghvard-Ashtarak highway, it was 5.5 hectares, and on the Masis-Charbakh highway, 1 hectare was burned.
The firefighters and rescuers managed to isolate and extinguish the fires.
