Tragic Car Accident in Aragatsotn Province: Driver and His Sister Killed

A tragic car accident occurred in Aragatsotn Province today, on August 10. Around 08:00, 42-year-old Vahagn Hakobyan, a resident of Aragatsavan village, lost control of his Toyota Land Cruiser on the 2nd kilometer of the Aragatsavan-Getap highway while heading towards Gyumri. The vehicle veered off the road, crashed into rocks, and flipped several times, ending up in a field.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver V. Hakobyan succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the Talin Medical Center. The passengers, 50-year-old Zarine Hakobyan and 22-year-old Melik Grigoryan, who are also residents of Aragatsavan, received first aid at the scene before being transferred to Talin Medical Center. Zarine Hakobyan later died in the hospital. Medical professionals are currently fighting to save the life of the 22-year-old.
