The European Court of Human Rights to Prioritize the Appeal of Manvel Grigoryan's Defenders

The European Court of Human Rights will prioritize the appeal presented by the lawyers of the former head of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Manvel Grigoryan. This was stated by Grigoryan's lawyer, Levon Baghdasaryan, in an interview with NEWS.am.

“We expect to hear responses from the ECHR in the near future. Our complaints are related to torture and unlawful detention. We've submitted additional evidence, and a decision from the ECHR will come soon,” he said.

The lawyer also mentioned that Manvel Grigoryan had undergone a medical examination at Nairi Medical Center, but he is not yet aware of the results. However, a negative dynamic in Grigoryan's health condition has been noted.

Baghdasaryan added that they will file a motion to change the measure of restraint after the judge returns from vacation.

It is noteworthy that on June 6, Manvel Grigoryan was transferred from the “Prison Hospital” to “Saint Grigor Lusavorich” Medical Center in extremely serious condition, and days later to “Nairi” Medical Center.

According to the indictment, Grigoryan illegally acquired, transported, and unlawfully stored firearms, military ammunition, shotgun cartridges, and explosive materials in three houses owned by him, by circumventing the restrictions stipulated in the RA law on firearms, in prior agreement with his wife Nazik Amiryan, his son Arman Grigoryan, and other individuals whose identities were not determined during the investigation. He is also accused of misappropriating property allocated for the needs of soldiers and volunteers defending the borders of the Republic of Artsakh during the April 2016 Four-Day War and the following days.
