He Travels A Lot: Mihiran Poghosyan's Close Associate on Yesterday's Video

Yesterday, a video circulated on the internet showing former Chief of the Investigative Committee Mihiran Poghosyan flying on a Pobeda airline plane. An associate of Poghosyan, who wished to remain anonymous, informed ArmDaily.am that they have seen the video and believe he has arrived in Moscow. It was relayed to us that Mihiran Poghosyan is able to move freely and travels a lot.

The associate also reported that according to their information, the extradition request from the Armenian Prosecutor's Office has been rejected by Russia, and Mihiran Poghosyan has had residency status in Russia for several months now.

When asked what has happened to Poghosyan's businesses in Armenia, the associate was unaware but noted that Poghosyan's relatives are always in contact with him and meet with him regularly.

Let us remind you that Mihiran Poghosyan has been charged in the offshore case under the 3rd part of Article 179 of the RA Criminal Code (embezzlement on a particularly large scale) and the 2nd part of Article 308 (abuse of official powers leading to severe consequences). A motion for his arrest was filed with the court on April 13, which was granted on April 15.

Mihiran Poghosyan was located and arrested in Russia, and then detained. The measure of restraint against him was changed from detention to house arrest on May 28. According to the Prosecutor's Office, his extradition process is ongoing.
