On August 10, at 11:35 local time (07:35 Greenwich Mean Time), the seismic protection territorial service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake at geographical coordinates 41.740° N and 46.630° E (12 km northeast of the city of Zaqatala in the Azerbaijan-Russia border area), with a depth of 10 km and a magnitude of 4.5.

The intensity of the underground tremor at the epicenter reached 6 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was also felt in the Armenian Tavush region, specifically in the cities of Ijevan and Koti, as well as in the city of Alaverdi in the Lori region, with an intensity of 2.
