Sanitek Sets One Condition: Hakob Karapetyan on Investments
“No new proposals have been made by Sanitek that would warrant additional discussion or an update in position,” said Hakob Karapetyan, the spokesman for the Yerevan Mayor's office, during a conversation with journalists regarding the waste collection issue on August 9.
Reiterating the Mayor’s remarks on the topic, Karapetyan emphasized that the door for cooperation has always been open for Sanitek, and the municipality has never closed that door. He reminded that a meeting took place 2-3 weeks ago with the participation of Sanitek and the Mayor's first deputy Hrachya Sargsyan and advisers, with no new developments arising from that discussion.
One of Sanitek's proposals pertains to investments, for which there are no obstacles, and those investments can be made. “Sanitek has set only one condition for making investments: that the contract should never be terminated. The municipality cannot terminate the contract under any circumstances, except in cases where Sanitek fails to fulfill its obligations. This provision is enshrined in the signed contracts and remains in effect to this day,” said Karapetyan.
