Revelation: The Head of the Araksavan Community Committed Abuses
Officers from the Main Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Police have received operational information indicating that the head of the Araksavan community in the Ararat region has committed abuses during his tenure.
Based on the information, operational-investigative measures were undertaken, resulting in the collection of factual data that from 2005, the community leader issued orders to appoint his relatives as janitors in the community administration, who did not actually show up for work.
A woman performed the janitorial duties on their behalf, receiving a total of over 2 million 892 thousand drams. Meanwhile, during the same period, over 6 million 115 thousand drams were disbursed from the community's financial resources, out of which 3 million 223 thousand drams were embezzled.
A criminal case has been initiated at the police regarding this incident, and it has been forwarded to the investigative committee for further inquiry.
