74 Arrested as Crimes Uncovered in Armenian Police Operations

To strengthen public order and prevent and reveal crimes and violations, the police of Armavir conducted intensified operations on August 4. A total of 74 individuals were apprehended on various suspicions by the police departments of Armavir, Vagharshapat, Metsamor, and Baghramyan.

During the personal search of one individual apprehended at the Vagharshapat police department, a firearm was discovered, the legality of which is being verified. Cases of illegal drug trafficking and other criminal activities were revealed. Previously convicted individuals residing in the region were summoned to the departments where preventive educational work was conducted with them. A total of 21 violations of road traffic rules were recorded, and reports were compiled for these incidents.

On August 4, intensified operations were also conducted by the police of the Ararat regional administration and its subdivisions to ensure the safety of road users. A total of 56 individuals were apprehended by the police departments of Artashat, Masis, and Ararat for various suspicions, including inappropriate behavior in public places. During these intensified operations, criminal cases were uncovered, including theft of personal property, infliction of bodily harm, and illegal drug trafficking. Additionally, 129 violations of road traffic rules were recorded, leading to the compilation of reports. Thirteen vehicles were moved to designated safe areas.

Moving on to the Vayots Dzor region, officers from the regional administration and its subdivisions apprehended several dozen individuals for various suspicions as well as for failing to comply with legal requests from the police. Searches were conducted, leading to the discovery of cold weapons, substances resembling narcotics, and cases of illegal logging were revealed. Furthermore, during the intensified operations, instances of voluntarily surrendering illegally held weapons and ammunition were recorded. A total of 14 violations of various road traffic rules were documented, resulting in the compilation of reports.
