The Revolution of Thought Has Begun: Pashinyan

It was somewhat unexpected yet pleasant for me to see that our actions in Ijevan have broad public support. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today, August 4, during a live broadcast on Facebook.

“This means that the revolution of thought has begun. People understand that national wealth cannot be destroyed for the benefit of 10, 20, or 100 families, especially since the social problems of those people cannot be solved merely by cutting down trees. I am from Ijevan myself, and I know that those people continue to live poorly, just as they always have. As for those who have begun to live well, they are the ones who have formed groups,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

The second positive public response Pashinyan received was after his visit to Gyumri. It is worth mentioning that in Gyumri, a mother of many approached the Prime Minister asking for assistance, to which he responded by questioning why her adult son was not working. Following this incident, Pashinyan made a post on his Facebook page urging people to work.

“People have consistently hoped for humanitarian assistance from the authorities at different times. I had made a post about this, and that post also received a positive response. In this context, I emphasize the importance of tax reforms; people must understand that they should meet their needs through their legal work. Today, there are numerous economic opportunities in Armenia that are not being utilized properly. We need to encourage people to take advantage of those opportunities, and our task is to consistently increase those opportunities every week. A poor person should have the chance to become rich through their work,” said Pashinyan.
