Video: Violations in Gegharkunik Healthcare Facilities - Details

The Armenian Police's Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes has received operational data regarding a series of violations in the Gegharkunik region. As a result of operational investigative measures, police officers have discovered that the wife of the former deputy governor of Gegharkunik was appointed as an auditor at the 'Gavar' Medical Center by a directive from the former governor in 2009, as well as at healthcare ambulatory centers operating in the communities of Lch'akh, Tsovak, and Gandzak, yet she has not actually reported to work.

A total of 7,002,854 AMD intended for her position has been embezzled through fraudulent means. Furthermore, it has been revealed that from December 2017 to May 2019, false information was recorded in the medical cards of hospitalized patients at the 'Gavar' Medical Center regarding the provision of free medical assistance under the state order, resulting in the embezzlement of 3,126,700 AMD from state funds. Based on the prepared materials, a criminal case has been initiated, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
