Sochi Airport Denies Reports of Dismissing Employees with Armenian Surnames
The press service of Sochi International Airport has denied reports that employees with Armenian surnames are being dismissed from their positions. In response to the news circulating in the media, the airport states, 'Sochi International Airport announces that the company’s personnel policy adheres to all norms and requirements of Russian legislation. The staff is multinational, and we consider this an undeniable advantage. Personnel decisions are made based on corporate standards and regulations, grounded in the ethical norms present within a diverse workforce.'
The press service further reports that 'a small group of dismissed employees is intentionally using national motives for their own interests, demanding special conditions.' It is noted that Armenians make up only 3 percent of all those dismissed.
It is worth mentioning that yesterday journalist Gagik Mkrtchyan raised concerns on his Facebook page, stating that Russian authorities were dismissing employees of Armenian descent from Sochi Airport.
