I Intend to Use the Helicopter Anytime It's Necessary for My Activities, Says Prime Minister
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has published a statement on his Facebook page regarding a denial released by the "Irates" media outlet. He stated, "In general, a helicopter is not a luxury, but a means of transportation. However, flying by helicopter from Lake Sevan to Dilijan for a family event, and from Dilijan to Ijevan for a friend's birthday would not be logical.
The journalist could have asked my press secretary before publishing the news. It is not the era when the country's leader's press secretary did not respond to journalists' calls.
I am also surprised by people who confidently trust such news. Well, dear citizens, for decades you have been deceived and robbed by such news, and now they want to convince you that today’s government is deceiving and robbing you in the same way.
The meaning of their statements is that we were better at deceiving and robbing, and in the meantime, we were handing out rice, dental prostheses, bribes... Moreover, for a number of media outlets, nothing has really changed in the country. They continue to feed off the plunder and loot from the Serj Sargsyan era.
Here, the comment directed at us is quite relevant, as there is still so much money in their hands that they can afford to buy not only the press but also protesters. However, we are restricted by the law and the lack of effective institutions. These issues will definitely be resolved based on the rule of law.
I will also say that I intend to use the Prime Minister's helicopter anytime it is necessary for my activities, just as I use the Prime Minister's car, office, and special communication. There shouldn't be an event made out of this."
