The 'Soros Team' Reforming Armenia's Justice System: Fact

Unclear processes continue in Armenia's judicial system. Just days ago, the thesis was circulating that the vetting process announced by Nikol Pashinyan would be implemented by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), while previously there was discussion about creating a special commission. New information has emerged on this topic for the newspaper 'Fact'. According to our sources, this process, which cannot actually be called vetting (especially after the well-known opinion of the Venice Commission), will instead be referred to as a study of judges' integrity, and the preparatory work of the process will be mainly carried out by international experts.

There is information that Armenian experts will have minimal participation in this topic, and those involved will represent very specific circles. The newspaper had already noted in one of its publications that representatives of Levon Ter-Petrosyan's team would have a distinct role in this process, but it seems that 'the drinks are getting sweeter'. According to reports, the so-called 'Soros' team’s experts are very active in this matter; they have already held several meetings with the members of the SJC and presented the main targets and strategies for the preparatory work and the process itself.
