Former Cultural Center Director Received 5 Million Dram Salary While Absent from Work

Operational data was received from the National Security Service (NSS) by the Police's Department of Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes concerning the unlawful activities of the former director of the Ijevan City Cultural Center. During the preparation of materials, officers from the Department of Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes, regional divisions in Tavush province, and the Ijevan division undertook operational-investigative measures, revealing the following.

According to preliminary data, in 2016, the former director of the Ijevan City Cultural Center registered an individual as a methodologist, who did not actually show up for work, and the total salary of 644,000 dram issued in his name was misused by the director.

According to another set of operational data received from the NSS, the former director of the “Ijevan Top Hotel” gallery also committed abuses. As a result of operational-investigative measures, police officers obtained factual evidence that from 2016 to 2018, she lived in the capital city with her husband and children and did not actually attend work, yet she received a total salary of 5,000,000 dram.

Additionally, it was established that another employee registered as a journalist in the gallery also did not attend work. The total salary of 3,000,000 dram issued in her name was misused by the director.

Criminal cases have been initiated regarding these incidents. Circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
