Experts Arrive in Kapan to Save Newborn with Severe Respiratory Distress
Within the framework of the Yerevan State Medical University’s "Muratsan" hospital's air ambulance service, a newborn suffering from congenital pneumonia and severe respiratory distress was transferred to the Neonatal Resuscitation Clinic. The emergency call was registered on June 30 at around 9:00 PM.
After conducting a telephone consultation, due to the lack of positive dynamics in the child’s condition, the medical team from the "Muratsan" university hospital, led by neonatologist Sona Israelian, set out for Kapan at 10:00 PM the same day.
By approximately 3:30 AM, the medical team arrived at the hospital in Kapan, where they took control of the critically ill newborn. Following an assessment of the situation, a decision was made to transfer the newborn, who was under assisted ventilation, from Kapan to Yerevan.
Thanks to the skilled efforts of the university physician, the child’s condition was stabilized, and by the morning at 9:00 AM, the newborn was transferred to the "Muratsan" university hospital without the need for artificial respiration, utilizing a regular nasal cannula. The infant is now under the supervision of the hospital’s doctors, who are implementing all necessary measures to address potential health issues threatening the child’s life.
According to neonatologist Sona Israelian from the Neonatal Resuscitation Clinic, there is a positive dynamic today, and the child's condition is stable.
