Prosecutor's Office Charges Judge Davit Grigoryan; He Pleads Not Guilty
On the evening of July 30, the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia charged judge Davit Grigoryan under part 1 of Article 314 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Grigoryan's lawyer, Ervand Varosyan, informed NEWS.am that Davit Grigoryan has not pleaded guilty to the charges, asserting that there is a direct connection to two decisions made during his professional activities as a judge in another case.
Varosyan added that upon reviewing the content of the charges, he can assert that while the substance of the accusation does not correspond to reality in many respects, even the existing text does not contain any factual circumstances indicating a crime. “This was yet another opportunity to confirm that the ongoing process is not a legal one, but rather a direct pursuit of the judge, aimed at intimidating other judges as well. At the same time, this also resolved the issue of transferring Robert Kocharyan's case to another judge,” said the lawyer.
