Fire Erupts in Artashat due to Gas Leak, Casualties Reported
On July 30, at 17:23, the emergency services received a report of a gas leak followed by a fire at the address 20 Yerevan Highway, in the parking lot of Liga LLC in Artashat, Ararat Province. An emergency response team was dispatched from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It was revealed that while performing work with specialized equipment near Liga LLC, a gas leak occurred, leading to the outbreak of a fire. Before rescuers arrived at the scene, two individuals, K.M. (born in 1984) and G.G. (born in 1987), were hospitalized with varying degrees of burns at the Artashat Medical Center. Doctors assessed K.M.'s condition as satisfactory, while G.G.'s was classified as moderate severity. G.G. was later transferred to the Republican Scientific Center of Radiation Medicine and Burns in Yerevan, where his condition was evaluated as serious.
The fire was contained by 17:37 and extinguished by 17:42. Damages included one window of Liga LLC's guard booth, a fully burned advertising panel (8 square meters), and damage to the suspended ceiling (approximately 3 square meters).
