Video: Arsen Torosyan Attends Heart Stenting Procedure
Today, the Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan, Deputy Minister Hovhannes Harutyunyan, and Acting Head of the Medical Assistance Policy Department Lusine Kocharyan visited the medical center in Vanadzor. Accompanied by Lori Governor Andrey Ghukasyan, Head of the Health and Social Security Department Arthur Mkrtchyan, and Director of the Vanadzor Medical Center Vahagn Mkrtchyan, the minister toured the medical center and learned about ongoing operations.
The medical center has been equipped with modern medical equipment through the "Disease Prevention and Control" program funded by the World Bank, including fully equipped operating rooms, devices for intensive therapy and laboratory purposes, a hemodialysis service, as well as an angiograph, a computer tomography machine, multifunctional digital X-ray complexes, portable and stationary ultrasound devices, a treadmill, and a Holter system—equipment that was previously unavailable in the Lori region. Thanks to the new equipment, residents of the region now have the opportunity to receive both diagnostic and invasive therapeutic interventions on-site.
During the tour, Arsen Torosyan attended the launch of a modern angiographic device in a heart stenting procedure. The minister also interacted with patients who welcomed the reforms being implemented in the healthcare sector and expressed their gratitude for the person-centered policy.
The visit concluded with a meeting with the directors of regional medical institutions, where the directors voiced their concerns and suggestions during a Q&A session.
