Fine for Driving in Opposite Traffic Lane May Increase: New Proposal from BHK

The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports: Members of the BHK faction in the National Assembly, Naira Zohrabyan and Vahe Enfiajyan, propose an amendment to the law on Administrative Offenses to tighten the fines for driving in the opposite traffic lane.

The legislators suggest raising the existing fine from 30,000 drams to 150,000 drams. The authors of the project believe that increasing the fine amount could serve a deterrent purpose. However, this is somewhat controversial, as if a driver who enters the opposite traffic lane is not afraid of losing their life or health, it is unlikely they will be deterred by a higher fine.
