Iranian Attempts to Smuggle 2 kg 665.5 grams of Opium into Armenia Hidden in Metal Parts
As a result of monitoring activities, employees of the department discovered a total of 2 kg 665.5 grams of a substance resembling opium, hidden inside two metal parts labeled "Made in Azerbaijan" intended for machinery. This information was provided by the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA State Revenue Committee.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Investigative Department of the State Revenue Committee based on the features of Article 267.1 of the RA Criminal Code. An Iranian citizen has been arrested.
It is noteworthy that days earlier, employees of the Department for Combating Smuggling uncovered a similar incident in a postal parcel, where another Iranian citizen attempted to export 2528 grams of opium-like substance hidden in similar parts to Canada.
