The 'Light' Faction Presents Salary Increase Proposal for Yerevan City Hall Employees

The head of the 'Light' faction in the Yerevan Council, Davit Khajakyan, has presented a proposal for increasing the salaries of the professional divisions within the Yerevan City Hall on his Facebook page.

He specifically stated: “We have repeatedly discussed the need for a proportional increase in the salaries of the City Hall's professional divisions. We were opposed to a polarized salary increase where the mayor’s salary would be doubled while professional divisions would see only a quarter increase. After withdrawing the previous proposal, the mayor did not submit a new one, leaving the expectations that arose within the staff unfulfilled. With the presented application, we propose a proportional salary increase of around 30%, which has not occurred in the past 8 years. We urge the mayor to discuss the rates and approve them in an extraordinary council meeting.”
