Students Participating in April War Face Issues: 'Joghvorud'
The process of dissolving the 'Youth Foundation of Armenia' has created problems for students who participated in the April War of 2016. Several students have approached the 'Joghvorud' newspaper, stating that the foundation has not reimbursed the promised 20 percent of their tuition fees for the 2018-19 academic year, citing that it is in the process of dissolution.
'Joghvorud' managed to contact the foundation, which responded: 'If the students' data corresponds, although the deadlines for the programs were announced until March 15, we have complied with their requests.' However, it was revealed that a directive from the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, issued on November 5 of the previous year, had instructed the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs to present proposals regarding the dissolution of the foundation.
It is possible that the functions of the foundation, previously managed by the Republican Karen Avagyan, will soon be undertaken by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
