Russia Bans Import of 19 Tons of Peaches and Nectarines from Georgia
Russia has banned the import of 19 tons of peaches and nectarines from Georgia. This information was reported by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) in a conversation with IA REGNUM.
It was noted that the imported fruits were found to contain insects that could spoil up to 90 percent of the product. According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, the import of spoiled products into the country is prohibited. Additionally, the importer will be subject to administrative liability.
