A Personnel Purge Has Begun in the Penitentiary Service, Who's Next: 'Joghourt'
According to information from the 'Joghourt' newspaper, a personnel purge has begun in the Penitentiary Service, and the head of the service, Arthur Goyunyan, is dismissing former personnel. He first relieved Deputy Head of the Penitentiary Service, Hayk Kochinyan, and appointed Vahe Papoyan, the head of the 'KGB basement' of the 'Yerevan-Center' Penitentiary, as his replacement.
There are also rumors that Goyunyan has decided to rid the system of previous members, and accordingly, the next dismissal application will come from one of the first deputies of the head of the RA Ministry of Justice's penitentiary service operational line, namely Manuk Mikayelyan. According to rumors circulating in the Penitentiary, Mikayelyan is considered one of the cadres of former Minister of Justice David Harutyunyan, as he entered the system during his term.
'Joghourt' newspaper attempted to clarify the information directly with Manuk Mikayelyan. He advised to contact the press service while stating, 'No, I am at the workplace and working,' the newspaper reports.
