Passengers of Bus Arriving from Istanbul Injure State Revenue Committee Employees

During routine monitoring by employees of the State Revenue Committee, passengers of a bus traveling from Istanbul to Yerevan at the Gogavan-Privalnoye customs checkpoint did not comply with the legal requirements of customs officers, exhibited aggressive behavior, and attempted to evade customs control by using violence against the employees of the State Revenue Committee, causing bodily harm. This was reported by the information and public relations department of the State Revenue Committee.

In connection with the incident, the Armenian police are preparing materials to clarify the circumstances of the case, identify those responsible, and hold them accountable.

Currently, the goods imported into Armenia by the passengers of the bus conducting international trips from Yerevan to Istanbul and back are stored in a customs warehouse, where customs control is being conducted.

The State Revenue Committee urges citizens, especially passengers of the international bus service from Yerevan to Istanbul, to adhere to the provisions of the EAEU customs code, laws of the Republic of Armenia, and other legal acts, as well as to strictly follow ethical rules and exhibit civilized behavior, as they have previously drawn the attention of law enforcement agencies due to their aggressive conduct. Additional information regarding the results of customs control will be provided later.
