A New Police Chief Appointed in Tavush Province
Today, on July 22, the Chief of Police of Armenia, Major General Valery Osipyan, signed several orders. According to Osipyan's order, Police Colonel Armen Gasparyan has been relieved of his position as the head of the Ararat Province Police Department.
In a separate order, A. Gasparyan has been appointed as the head of the Tavush Province Police Department. Additionally, Osipyan appointed Arthur Zakaryan as the acting head of the Ararat Province Police Department, who previously served as the deputy head for operational matters within the same department.
G. Shamshyan reports that A. Gasparyan is considered a professional in the police system, recognized for his expertise, and is often referred to by the nickname “Commissioner Catani,” as he has consistently demonstrated himself as a professional operative. In many instances, his work has been likened to that of the main character in the famous Italian film “Sea Monster,” Michele Placido’s “Commissioner Catani.”
