The Elevator Did Not Fall, It Malfunctioned: Ministry of Emergency Situations
As reported earlier by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on July 21 at 22:01, the 911 service received a call stating that the elevator of the building at 22 Shiraz Street in Yerevan had fallen, and a citizen was inside. Assistance from rescuers was needed.
A firefighting and rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations dispatched one combat crew to the scene, along with a rescue team from the specialized center for rescue operations (which returned due to the lack of necessity) and the operational group from the National Crisis Management Center, as well as an instructor from the psychological support division.
It was determined that the elevator had malfunctioned while descending from the 5th floor and was stuck between the 2nd and 3rd floors. There were no injuries reported. Rescuers opened the elevator door and brought out the individual (H.P., born in 1994); there was no need for medical assistance.
