Why Smoke Filled the Airplane on the Yerevan-Moscow Flight
At Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport, the cause of smoke in a Nordwind Airlines airplane was vapor from hydraulic fluid and the presence of oil in the ventilation system. This information was reported by the tv360ru Telegram channel, citing the Investigative Committee.
On the night of July 18-19, the Boeing 737 plane, conducting the Moscow-Yerevan flight, interrupted its journey because the smoke alarm went off in the cockpit. Passengers had to be evacuated, leading to a scuffle in which 8 people were injured.
According to a statement from the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office, the aircraft interrupted its flight at 00:55 during the descent phase. The crew reported the smoke in the cockpit, and a decision was made to cease the flight. There were 173 passengers and 6 crew members on board, and the evacuation was carried out using inflatable stairs. No open fire was detected during the inspection of the aircraft.
