Kotayk Governor Demands Invalidating Decision to Name 18 Streets in Nor Geghi After Former Community Leader
Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan has approached the administrative court, requesting to invalidate a decision made by the Nor Geghi community council four years ago, which renamed several streets in the community after former mayor Frontik Tevanyan. This information was reported by the court-information system 'Datalex'.
The governor's request was received by the court on July 8 and assigned to Judge Arthur Tsaturyan. In honor of Frontik Tevanyan's 72nd birthday, community council members had presented him with a gift, and on March 24, 2015, a decision was made to name 18 streets in the community after him.
The council's decision to rename the streets in honor of Tevanyan was adopted with 11 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 0 against. Additionally, in connection with the former village mayor's 60th birthday, the village's music school was also named after him.
