Aside from 18 Streets, There is an Art School Named After Frontik Tevosyan in the Village, Says Governor
The governor of Kotayk, Romanos Petrosyan, has filed a complaint with the administrative court, demanding that the decision made by the council of the Nor Geghi community four years ago be declared invalid. This decision named several streets in the community after the former mayor, Frontik Tevosyan.
Regarding this issue, SHANTNEWS.am spoke with Governor Romanos Petrosyan.
Petrosyan noted that according to his information, this is the only community in the region, and he became aware of the matter on his very first day as governor. "He has been the head of this community since 1985 in various capacities. There are about 18 major and minor streets named after him. It is noteworthy that the main avenue leading to Aragatsotn is also named after Frontik Tevosyan. By law, I have proposed twice to revoke the decision regarding the surname," he stated.
According to the mayor, under the law regarding naming, a street can be renamed after a person five years after their death, or if they have provided undeniable services.
Romanos Petrosyan mentioned that he worked with Frontik Tevosyan for two months and asked him why he acted in this manner. "Let me reveal a little secret. Aside from 18 streets, there is also an art school named after Frontik Tevosyan in Nor Geghi," he said.
