Identity of Woman Struck by Train Revealed

According to reports, at 19:46 today, the emergency services received a call regarding an incident at the 2725th km of the railway, in the Bayandur-Gyumri section, where a train struck a woman approximately 60 years old as it was entering the Gyumri station. Rescuers were urgently needed at the scene.

A firefighting and rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the site. "We are still at the scene; the woman struck by the train has died on the spot, her body is dismembered, and we have not yet found her relatives. Only a few bystanders informed us that they recognized the woman as their neighbor," noted Alexander Gyozalyan, head of the Shirak regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in a phone conversation with Shantnews.am.

Gyozalyan also reported that the identity of the woman is now known. She is Susanna Khachatryan, a resident of the Meat Combine neighborhood in Gyumri, born in 1951. However, the circumstances of how and why she ended up on the railway tracks remain unclear.
