VIDEO: Women Suspected of Engaging in Prostitution Detained

In the framework of combating prostitution, the police regularly conduct rounds at potential gathering places for sex workers.

According to a statement issued by the police, on July 10, officers from the Shengavit division and the patrol service of Yerevan performed an operation during which 9 women suspected of engaging in prostitution were discovered.

The aim of the operation is to prevent sex workers from establishing gathering places as this violates public order, and they also demonstrate disrespectful behavior and cause inconveniences for residents of nearby buildings. The police have received numerous complaints from citizens regarding this issue. Operations will continue.
