Stabbing for Revenge
The preliminary investigation into the stabbing of a 55-year-old resident of Vanadzor has been completed at the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charges have been brought against a 51-year-old fellow citizen. This was announced by the press service of the Investigative Committee.
As a result of the investigative and procedural actions conducted during the pre-trial proceedings, several circumstances of the incident and its motive have been clarified. Thus, the resident of Vanadzor, born in 1968, learned that during his imprisonment, a fellow citizen man born in 1964 had established a close relationship with his girlfriend. After returning from serving his sentence, the 55-year-old man urged the other to stay away from his girlfriend.
To obtain clarifications, the 51-year-old man called the girlfriend, who refused to meet with him. In response to the repeated calls, the victim, angered, insulted him over the phone, demanding that he stop calling. As a result, offended by the insults directed at him and with the intention of seeking revenge, the 51-year-old man went to the ex-girlfriend's apartment and, intending to cause bodily harm, stabbed the 55-year-old man with a knife he had with him, causing serious injury to his health before fleeing the scene.
Based on the collected sufficient evidence, the resident of Vanadzor, born in 1968, has been charged under the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code. A preventive measure of detention has been selected for him. Notification of the completion of the preliminary investigation has been made, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of the preliminary investigation with a motion to confirm the accusatory conclusion and forward it to court.
