Residents of Two Fourth-Category Emergency Buildings in Yerevan Receive New Apartments
Residents of the fourth-category emergency buildings located at 8 and 10 Arzakan Street in Yerevan have received new apartments today. A total of 83 families, who have lived in these buildings for years, were handed the keys to their new homes.
According to the Yerevan Municipality, an additional 59 families were also granted the right to own apartments in a newly constructed building at 3 Sisakyan Street, based on decisions by the Yerevan Mayor and the council. Prior to this, these families will be relocated to rental apartments, with monthly rent being funded from the municipal budget.
Congratulating the families, Mayor Hayk Marutyan noted that the difficult and prolonged process is now nearing resolution, which has allowed 142 families the opportunity to live in comfortable and favorable conditions.
“For decades, our fellow citizens have lived not only in unfavorable conditions, unsuitable for Yerevan residents, but also in life-threatening situations. Over this time, some had deepened doubts and distrust towards the process, with many no longer believing they would ever move to new apartments. But, thank God, today we can confidently say that we are nearing the finish line, and we are sure we have chosen the optimal solution to this issue together with our residents,” Marutyan stated, thanking those who initiated the resettlement process, those who implemented it over the years, and the city’s current administrative partners who took this task on with full responsibility and diligence.
Following this, Yerevan’s mayor visited a building located at 15 Builders Street and personally examined the conditions and amenities of the residents' new apartments. Hayk Marutyan once again congratulated the families on their new homes and wished them continued success in their new residences.
The apartments are provided to residents fully equipped with necessary amenities, decorations, heating, water, and natural gas supply systems. Mayor Marutyan assured that this socially significant resettlement program will continue.
