Train Announcements in Georgian Trains Will No Longer Be Made in Russian
In trains operating on the Tbilisi-Batumi-Tbilisi route, passengers are no longer greeted in Russian. According to the Georgian Railway company, this decision is not related to the visit of Russian MP Sergey Gavrilov to Georgia.
“For already four months, no announcements have been made in Russian for passengers. This decision was made to improve service, as announcements in three languages were excessively long and caused certain discomfort for passengers. As a result, we chose English as the international language,” the statement reads.
