Serious Uprising is Brewing: Protests in Alaverdi Expected to Have a Snowball Effect
The newspaper "Pats" reports that on the previous day, employees of the Alaverdi copper smelting factory blocked all exits and entrances of the factory early in the morning, as well as the interstate railway. The reason is the dismissal of around 200 employees.
The issue has been noted by "Pats" in its previous publications, indicating that the situation is increasingly gaining a snowball effect.
According to the newspaper's sources, a significant uprising is brewing in Alaverdi and the surrounding villages due to the closure of the Alaverdi copper smelting plant and Teghut, and serious developments are expected in the near future.
In particular, one of the newspaper's sources has reported that residents plan to blockade the city’s overall logistics system by closing the main road and railway for several days.
