Armenia Must Establish a Unified Network of Armenian Doctors Worldwide, Says Pashinyan

The work of the International Armenian Medical Association needs to be made more organized, and Armenia should have a unified network of Armenian doctors from around the world. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the opening ceremony of the 5th International Medical Congress in Armenia on July 3, as reported by Armenpress.

Welcoming the participants of the congress, Pashinyan emphasized that such a network is crucial because it will enable the Armenian people and Armenia to more quickly overcome the complex of being small and weak, which has unfortunately accompanied us for a long time.

“When we realize who we have in various corners of the world at such gatherings, when we recognize that Armenia and Artsakh truly have professionals of international and global caliber, and when we see that various countries in the world take pride in Armenian specialists and their achievements, it helps all of us, every Armenian, every citizen, Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora to continuously elevate our self-assessment,” Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the Armenian people have always felt the support of the international Armenian medical community. He noted that this support was invaluable during the 1988 earthquake, during the Artsakh liberation struggle, and after the ceasefire, when dozens and hundreds of Armenian doctors provided assistance to representatives of socially vulnerable groups in need of medical support.

“Many similar programs have been implemented in Armenia and Artsakh during this time, but today I note that the professional and medical congress, and the work of the international Armenian medical community, need to be made more systematic. We need to organize this work as one cohesive team and system so that we can finally turn energy into synergy. The more I engage with different communities in the diaspora during my work, the more pleasantly surprised I am by the powerful figures we have in this particular field, in health care, in various countries around the world who are at the forefront of health care innovations—as authors, critics, specialists, testers, and implementers. This potential is indeed a significant support for our country, ensuring Armenia’s technological future,” emphasized Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister mentioned that the Republic of Armenia, the government, and the people hope for this vision and believe that it will ultimately unite everyone on the path to becoming a developed and established country.

“This system must operate in all professional sectors. Yes, we need to have an organized network of partnerships among Armenian doctors, physicists, mathematicians, military personnel, and scientists. And the center of all these efforts must be Armenia. The Armenian government is ready to do everything necessary to effectively realize this goal, and the recent changes within the structure of the Armenian government are also aimed at addressing such issues,” Pashinyan concluded.
