Protests to Resume on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi Today
Today at 7:00 PM, another protest will restart on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. Local media reports that demonstrators will gather near the business center of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the head of the 'Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia' political union.
Participants in the protest have stated that the demonstrations will not cease until Georgia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gakharia, resigns. It is noteworthy that the authorities have met some of the other demands of the protesters, including the resignation of Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze, the appointment of extraordinary parliamentary elections based on a proportional representation system, and the release of all detainees from June 20.
