Armenian and Russian Customs Officials Conduct Training Exercise
The Armenian State Revenue Committee's Anti-Smuggling Department, in collaboration with the Russian Federal Customs Service's Main Anti-Smuggling Department, has conducted another training exercise. The customs officials of Armenia and Russia exchanged practical experiences on preventing the cross-border illegal circulation of narcotics in scenarios close to real conditions.
According to the information and public relations department of the SRC, the training was carried out in two phases. During the first phase, SRC officials traveled to Moscow, while in the second phase, their Russian counterparts arrived in Yerevan. Following the scenario, the entire logistics chain of transporting narcotics from the airport to the consignee was uncovered thanks to the exchange of information within the framework of internationally verifiable supply chains between the partner countries.
Employees from the K9 Unit and the Rapid Response Division of the Anti-Smuggling Department also participated in the event. Through regular training exercises, the State Revenue Committee is enhancing its methods for combating the international illegal circulation of narcotics.
