30 Criminal Authorities' Residences Checked
The Ararat regional division of the police, alongside its subordinate units, conducted enhanced operations on June 21 and 22 due to concerns over public safety. The operations involved the participation of traffic police serving the region and officers from the main department of state protection in Ararat.
28 task forces consisting of 110 police officers detained 23 individuals in the Artashat, Ararat, and Masis divisions on various suspicions and conducted checks at the residences of approximately 30 criminal authorities residing in the region.
During the enhanced operations, the Ararat police uncovered a case of illegal drug trafficking, discovered illegally held weapons and ammunition, and apprehended a wanted person as well.
Throughout the two-day enhanced service, a total of 152 protocols were drawn up for various violations of traffic regulations, including 29 for speeding. Additionally, 19 vehicles were removed to designated special areas, 5 of their drivers were found to have consumed alcohol, and 14 lacked appropriate documentation.
To ensure adherence to coexistence rules and traffic safety, the Ararat police will carry out similar enhanced operations on a regular basis.
