Georgia More Favorable than Armenia in Most Tax Factors, MP Says
LHK MP Arkadi Khachatryan has examined nearly a dozen tax factors affecting businesses and concluded that Georgia is in a more favorable position than Armenia in most of these aspects. He made this statement from the parliamentary podium and presented some numerical values.
In comparison:
- Value Added Tax (VAT): Armenia - 20%, Georgia - 18%
- Income Tax: Will be 20% + 5% cumulative after three years in Armenia, 20% in Georgia
- Profit Tax: 18% + 5% dividend tax in Armenia, 15-20% in Georgia
In summary, the MP stated that their proposals have not been accepted, and they believe that Armenia needs a new Tax Code. Khachatryan announced that the LHK faction will vote against the current draft law.
It is worth noting that the BHK faction had also previously announced that it would vote against the proposal presented by the government.
