Vigen Kocharyan Assumes Duties as a Member of the Supreme Judicial Council
With 114 votes in favor and 4 against, Vigen Kocharyan has been elected as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council. Prior to the start of today’s session in the National Assembly, Kocharyan took an oath and then signed the oath text. By taking the oath, Kocharyan has pledged to ensure the independence of courts and judges.
It is important to note that the National Assembly continues its extraordinary session that began on June 21. The agenda of the extraordinary session includes 21 items. The draft laws to be discussed also include amendments and supplements to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia, changes to the Constitutional Law on the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, and the annual report on the activities of the Republic of Armenia's Audit Chamber for 2018.
