Changes in the 'Structure' Section of the Constitutional Court Website Happened Over a Year Ago

Active discussions are circulating in the media about a Facebook post by Suren Deheryan, the president of the NGO 'Journalists for the Future', regarding the recently implemented changes on the Constitutional Court's website. Specifically, the section titled 'Structure of the CC' has seen a renaming of the subsection 'Members' to 'Judges'.

Deheryan stated, 'Previously, this subsection was called 'CC Members', but now it has become 'CC Judges.' These changes were made in the last two days, if not yesterday, as it still read 'CC Members' on Friday. However, due to a minor technical oversight, this change has not been noticeable until now.'

In an attempt to clarify when these changes occurred, Fip.am utilized the web archive, which archives website pages and allows users to see what changes have been made on specific pages. Upon examining the modifications made to the 'Structure of the CC' section from 2018 and 2019, it is evident that the subsection 'CC Members' was renamed to 'CC Judges' as early as May 31, 2018.

In 2019, according to web archive, there was only one change made in the 'Structure of the CC' section on June 21, which added the details of newly appointed CC Judge Vahe Grigoryan.

Interestingly, when accessing another subsection titled 'Head of Staff' on the Constitutional Court's website, the 'CC Judges' subsection still appears as 'CC Members'.

Thus, the information circulating about the 'swift changes' on the Constitutional Court's website does not correspond with reality. Notably, a few hours later, Suren Deheryan updated his post, stating, 'My colleagues assure me that they saw this change in May 2018. This means it happened much earlier than the date I mentioned. I see no reason to disbelieve them. However, due to the technical issue I mentioned, the 'CC Members' subsection still exists today, and that's how I access that page.'
