Serzh Sargsyan Skillfully Shifted Public Attention: Arman Melikyan

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, Arman Melikyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "The territorial losses we experienced during the April 2016 war had significant political repercussions for us. The fact is that the April territorial losses were meant to highlight that the concept of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Artsakh does not exist primarily for the Armenian side. In other words, this notion should have had exclusive and vital significance for the participants in the conflict.

Mr. Serzh Sargsyan skillfully shifted public attention away from this fact, instead introducing a completely unfounded and unfeasible 'idea' regarding the establishment of means for mutual trust and control on the contact line, as well as mechanisms for investigating armed incidents. He also supplemented this with a populist promise to please our people’s ears about signing a military-political alliance in the Yerevan-Stepanakert format."
