16-year-old teen stabs 35-year-old man while clarifying questions about sister

The investigation into a criminal case regarding the deliberate infliction of serious bodily harm on a 35-year-old resident of Goris by a minor has been completed by the SIunyk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

According to information provided by the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, on May 15, 2019, around 14:30, a minor resident of the Syunik region, born in 2003, stopped a car driven by a 35-year-old man from Goris to clarify some questions related to his sister. He then sat in the front passenger seat and during their conversation, he intentionally stabbed the man twice with a sharp cutting-piercing tool, causing a cut-pierced wound to the anterior surface of the upper third of the left forearm, a cut-pierced wound to the anterior wall of the chest with penetration into the abdominal cavity, and damage to the right diaphragm and the right lobe of the liver, endangering the man's life.

Based on sufficient evidence gathered, the 16-year-old suspect has been charged under Article 112, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. As a preventive measure, he has been placed under supervision. The conclusion of the investigation has been announced, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor responsible for overseeing the legality of the investigation, with a request to confirm the indictment and forward it to court.
